In the
middle of bloody nowhere |
Isolated
and with a tiny population Pisterzo is not easy to get to without a car,
which is not to say it is impossible. A bus comes once a day from Prossedi
and Priverno. There is also a footpath down the mountain which takes 30
minutes at a brisk walk (double to ascend) which takes you to the highway.
Buses along this road take you to either Latina or Frosinone or Sezze
Scalo all of which have train stations on the line from Roma (Termini
to Napoli). Those arriving at any of these points could be picked up by
a taxi. Alternatively they would arrive in FossaNova, the station serving
Priverno, and arrive in Pisterzo by bus. At other times we hope to make
arrangements with local networks to provide a taxi service. The relative
difficulty of getting to Pisterzo is all part of preserves in charm of
isolation. |
